Snow leopards

Camouflaged and camera-shy, snow leopards usually roam the Himalayas without detection. Several of these elusive cats were spotted on trail cameras, but blink and you might still miss them.

How many do you spot?

Recently, there was news in the international media where some European woman claimed to have taken pictures of a snow leopard in our country. Later, the news turned out to be a hoax. The pictures of snow leopards had been photoshopped. However, a lot of people in my home country have actually taken pictures of snow leopards. I have not seen them for real.

Lincoln Park Zoo has or had snow leopards. They were one of my favorite animals to see. They would hang around the window of their outdoor enclosure, so they were easy to see up close. They are beautiful animals.
