Pet Name

How did you come up with the name for your pet/pets?

Our pets are usually named by the children in the family. We call our dog Daisy, my niece named her Daisy. Our previous dog was called Prince, and my nephew had named the dog. We let children pick up the names of our pets as well as farm animals.

I'm not really sure, I usually call my dog "dog" and my cat "cat". If I can remember their names I have named them whatever comes to mind. I have had two AKC registered dogs and I named them according to their parents. I had a pure-bred Alaskan Malamute names Yukon Temok after his parents and breed. I also had a papillon named Reeses Pieces. His parents were named after sweet treats. My favorite pet of all time was a Australian Shepard (dog), but no papers and I think it may have been a mix. She was a rescue and I called her "Lady", because she was female.

For our dog, we let our daughter pick it out and I don't know how she came up with the name. It's a type of flower and I guess maybe we had some in our yard, but I didn't think she noticed.
