I saw a grouse on my hike today!

Today I was going for my hike, and up on a ridge I thought I saw a pretty rock, but it turned out to be a bird! It was so close to the trail that I couldn't believe it was there at first. I had no idea what kind it was, because I really don't see them too often, and I came home and checked and it's a type of grouse. I wish I could have gotten a pic of it, but it got up and walked further away from me into the weeds.
