How do you come up with names for your pets?

My kids named em. I named my pets as a kid. I had 4 rabbits and a cat. The cat was called Vlekje, Spotty cause he had a spot. The rabbits grey whity, bluey, blacky and brownie. Kids named the first two rabbits Blacky and Whity. Then they were yelling. Black one! Come here! White one! You bunch of racists. What will the neighbours think? So then Whitey was changed to Fluffy lol. And later we got Henk after my brother and Carl. 2 female rabbits. They wanted a male, but I didn't want 500 rabbits, so they only got females and gave em a male name. My brother said: I don't know if I should feel flattered or offended. Then I went with Henk to the vet and the assistant had to laugh cause the vet was also called Henk.
